Phil Done has taught elementary
school for twenty years. He fixes staplers that won't staple, zippers
that won't zip, and pokes pins in the orange caps of glue bottles
that will not pour. He has sung "Happy Birthday" 657 times.
In his classroom students learn that learning is life-long, imagination
really is more important than knowledge, and that most of Thomas Edison's
experiments didn't work the first time either.
A witness to the laughter,
hope, and joys of discovery, Done inspires and motivates listeners
with his humorous and heartwarming stories from the classroom. An
advocate of teachers and the nobility of teaching, Done reminds us
of the kids who uplift us, and the value in making a difference. With
his entertaining presentation style, Done reinforces that teaching
is indeed the most important job in the world.
